Organizations, as a whole, are under increasing pressure from the board of directors, executive management, and business unit managers to demonstrate and improve the business value of their investments- IT organizations are no different. However, IT organizations struggle perhaps a little more than the others. Therefore, firms that strive for best practice in IT portfolio management need to evaluate, develop, and apply a standard methodology. This standard methodology should be implemented to measure whether the business value of investments is sound when proposed and throughout the process to the end when it is delivered.
