Today I came across Damien Joseph's article, 'An Explosion' in Women-Owned Companies? (BusinessWeek). In his article, Joseph cites a prediction made by Amy Millman, President/Founder of the venture capital firm Springboard Enterprises: "Millman predicts that in the next four to five years there will be 'an explosion' of women founding companies in science-based sectors such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, software, and clean energy."
Interestingly, the article itself seems to support Millman's assertion, for although it was written by Joseph, it was suggested by Marcia McLean, founder of the software company CapeCoder.
