The New York Times reports that high tech jobs in software, computer design, and the internet are becoming vacant all over the United States because American schools are not producing a sufficient number of graduates capable of filling these positions. Because of this, an enormous number of high tech jobs are being lost to other countries.
Reason being that for such a decrease in high tech jobs being filled is because the federal government is not issuing enough green cards or visas to students already studying here, so they are returning to their home countries. The solution posed by the Times is to increase the number of visas for foreign technology industry workers in order for the US to stay on the cutting age of technology. What else can be done to fill the technology job vacancies in the US?
